Taking the first step to seek solutions for the issues facing your business is key. However, frequently business owners find it difficult to face the reality of distress, and the effect that it is having on their business.
We can help you to overcome the inertia and personal pride to reach out and seek experienced assistance, advice and support.
The sooner a distressed business takes action to overcome their problems, the more solutions are available to resolve the position.
Having established the severity of the situation, and taken appropriate advice, solutions can be agreed and implemented. The support provided will allow the business owner to focus on the day to day trading, whilst someone is assisting them and the business to fix the underlying problems.
It is essential to grasp the problem, deal with it and move on, even if this means that the business needs to go through a formal insolvency process. Pre-insolvency advice is available should the business ultimately need to seek a formal insolvency process.
Why not ask for help and support? All initial meetings are free of charge and without any obligation. We have seen so many business fail, which could still be trading today. It’s all about taking charge of the situation and remaining in control of your business before one of the major stakeholders takes control away from you.
Our experience covers a vast array of different business and industries including; retail, hotels, hospitality, agriculture, race horses, manufacturing, property, biotech, IT, charities and professional practices.
Julia Branson was a Licenced Insolvency Practitioner with over 30 years experience in recovery and restructuring of companies. The majority of her time has been spent working in the Thames Valley and the London & South East marketplace. She also has experience of dealing with larger trading businesses; responsible for the day-to-day trading of Woolworths in Administration, and trading a franchised Holiday Inn hotel. However, her primary focus is working with SME businesses; including the directors, shareholders, bankers, legal advisers, customers, suppliers, HMRC and other major stakeholders of the business.
Julia has a naturally caring, sensitive approach, and her experience has enabled her to fully understand the emotions attached to the demise of a struggling business. However, she is also a very strong individual and knows when to get tough with people who need to wake up and face the facts.
Julia understands the effects that financial pressure has upon the Entrepreneur who started the business, and the consequent loss of pride, which is often more of an issue to deal with than the financial loss. She has a real understanding of what that loss of pride and money has on the individual, their spouse and their family. Encouraging business owners to take earlier advice than they may consider necessary, and advising them that often whilst the business is short of cash, spending money on taking timely and appropriate measures is the best investment they are likely to make. The key is to take advice when the business is ‘stressed’ rather than when it is ‘distressed’, thereby providing more solutions to work with. Julia can act as a ‘Sounding Board’ for a business owner, so that they always have someone to turn to. If she does not have a solution, she will know someone who does, due to her extensive network of business contacts in the local marketplace.
